Job Description

Chapman Collision Center’s Speedway location in Tucson is looking for a qualified Auto Mechanic to join our team. This role helps restore customer vehicles to pre-accident condition and ensures vehicle safety by inspecting, repairing and replacing mechanical components damaged in an accident. The ideal candidate will be well versed in repairing mechanical systems on various makes and models of vehicles. The Mechanic will collaborate with Auto Body Technicians and Estimators, and reports to the Body Shop Manager. What We Offer:

Core Responsibilities:
  • Test, diagnose, and repair or replace damaged vehicle mechanical systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Repair or swap damaged vehicle frames
  • Test-drive vehicles upon completion of repairs to ensure safety and drivability
  • Inform the Collision Estimator and Body Shop Manager if additional repairs or parts are needed, and provide an estimate of time needed to complete repairs
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5+ years of automotive mechanical experience required; ASE certifications preferred
  • Proven expertise in vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting and mechanical repairs on various makes and models of vehicles
  • Meticulous attention to detail and thoroughness to your work
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating dependability and punctuality
  • Must have your own tools
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
