Description Position Purpose: The AVL Technicians have to learn as much as possible to gain knowledge to then gain a Tech II level of responsibility. The Tech II must help or assist the growth of the Tech I, among other Tech II responsibilities.
Both Tech I and Tech II have the overall responsibility of fulfilling the daily Audio, Video, and Lighting needs of Charis Bible College Woodland Park. The Tech positions will be technical "jack of all trades" who can be flexible to the technical needs of the college but are also willing to gain existing skills and learn new responsibilities.
Essential Duties: Overall Responsibilities
- Assist the AVL Manager as required.
- Utilize MxU - Training for Worship & Tech Teams.
- Ensure Denonaudio recording capability is maintained in all classrooms.
- Perform basic editing of audio and video files on ministry-provided equipment using Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and/or other editing programs.
- Able to operate the sound console in the main auditorium.
- Able to operate a lighting control board and a video switcher.
- Able to operate Pro Presenter software.
- Able to assist musicians with Klang in-ear monitoring interface.
- Train student volunteers to operate AVL equipment and software for classes, etc.
- Work AVL positions during conferences and/or special event sessions.
- Work AVL positions for Course Filming.
- Scheduling of volunteers for AVL positions.
- Maintain AVL hardware periodic maintenance schedule. Repair equipment as needed.
- Fabrication and modification of physical infrastructure supporting AVL systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Live Production Preparation / Worship, Productions
- Able to assist musicians with Klang in-ear monitoring interface.
- Able to operate the sound console in the main auditorium.
- Able to operate a lighting control board and a video switcher.
- Able to operate Pro Presenter software.
- Skillfully operate the broadcast cameras in the main auditorium.
- Set the main auditorium stage and classrooms as required before and after worship or teaching events.
Daily Operations
- Ensure Denon audio recording capability is maintained in all classrooms.
- Manage AVL Request forms.
- Provide AVL support for classes, including microphone setup, configuring video signal flow, operating ProPresenter, and/or operating sound console.
- Fabrication and modification of physical infrastructure supporting AVL systems.
- Maintain AVL hardware periodic maintenance schedule. Repair equipment as needed
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills including technical resolution.
- Must be able to effectively operate both Mac and Windows-based computers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Perform with integrity and professionalism in every work situation
- Working from heights on ladders or a man lift
- Understanding of signal flow and advanced troubleshooting skills
- Hearing and vision must be normal due to job functions. Hearing and vision testing may be requested in the interview process.
Requirements: - Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must sign the Statement of Faith
- A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
- Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
- Charis Media School graduate is a plus.
- Must pass all required checks.
Experience: - Experience in sound console operation, still and video photography, and audio/video editing.
- Minimum experience required to be able to be successful in the role.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
