Summary:

Coordinates the development of performance improvement processes, assists with compliance with internal and external standards and regulations through monitoring and promotion of continuous survey readiness for the Memorial Healthcare System Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Services.

Responsibilities:

Analyzes trauma cases for prospective, concurrent, and retrospective review of documentation, care, and compliance with trauma policies and performance improvement indicators.Develops, implements, and facilitates quality evaluation, education, and improvement initiatives.Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds to ensure coordination of care. Assists in trauma resuscitation, when neededCommunicates with healthcare providers and community partners for the purposes of performance improvement, outreach, and education.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Bachelors: Nursing (Required)Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses (ATCN) - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT) - Compact RN Multistate, Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA)

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience: Required Experience:Minimum of five (5) years' acute care nursing experience with emphasis on trauma or related field.Preferred Experience:Critical Care Nursing, Trauma NurseOther Information: Additional Education Info: Bachelors Degree; Must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position and must be enrolled in a BSN program within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer.
