We are seeking a Director of Insights to drive our audience research and consumer insights practice. The ideal candidate for this role is a driven market research expert who can translate data into actionable insights with a proven track record of delivering significant business impact. This role will be responsible for owning research and insights practices that inform strategic and tactical business issues in support of Sales, Marketing, Programming, and Distribution at Vevo.This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our New York City office.As a member of our team, you will:Oversee the development of robust learning agendas, research strategies, and audience intelligence frameworks that will drive forward Vevo’s business strategyDevelop bespoke research studies and data analyses to guide thought leadership and drive innovative strategies both internally and externally through data-driven consumer and audience insightsLead all aspects of quantitative and qualitative primary research projects, including: third party supplier management, study design and execution, data analysis and reporting, and socialization of insights across the broader companyBecome an expert on Vevo’s global audience and viewership trends, deriving holistic audience narratives and strategic opportunities by leveraging 1st and 3rd party data sources and platformsContribute to the development of go-to-market positioning, in-depth audience narratives, and category overviews, ensuring that data-driven recommendations inform all market-facing collateralBe proactive in discovering and translating global consumer media, streaming, and music trends into probing research questions and learning agendas, utilizing Vevo proprietary research, internal analytics, and syndicated market intelligence tools to tell holistic stories Coach and guide a high performing team of researchers responsible for managing and executing research studies and robust data analyses, working in close partnership with core business functions such as Sales, Marketing, Comms, ProgrammingThis describes you:You have the ability to translate data analysis into actionable insights and strategies, effectively communicating them to both internal teams and external stakeholdersYou can compile, synthesize and distill data from multiple sources, identify patterns within and across data sets and determine what those patterns mean for our consumers and Vevo’s business overallYou possess strong knowledge of the multi-platform media and content landscape, advanced quantitative/qualitative methodologies and data collections frameworks, and current trends and challenges shaping the media industryYou have experience managing 3rd party research vendors through the full partnership lifecycle, from contract negotiation to project executionYou are naturally curious and possess a knack for uncovering valuable insights and translating them into persuasive narratives that inspire action and influence decision-making among senior leadersRequirements:8+ years of relevant consumer insights and/or market research experience, preferably at a media agency or digital publisher/brandExpert knowledge of various quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and the ability to translate research and insights into business solutionsDeep familiarity and expertise with global syndicated research partners such as eMarketer, BrandWatch, GlobalWebIndex, MRI|Simmons, etc., along with a strong awareness of other global research and insights solutions in the marketplace Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques, with experience in data processing and visualization tools such as Looker and statistical software like SPSS or SASEffective cross-functional leadership skills, with ability to influence and align other teams to achieve business goalsInterested?
