Job Summary The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current full-time vacancy at Baywood Elementary School in Los Osos, and to establish an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for this classification that may occur over a six month period.
The current vacancy is for a full-time position, working Monday through Friday. Baywood Elementary is a dual-immersion (English/Spanish) school; accordingly, bilingual skills are preferred.
Elementary Secretaries at SLCUSD perform highly responsible and complex secretarial duties in support of a Principal at an elementary school; serve as lead secretary at the school site; disseminate information and provide assistance to staff, parents, students, and community members; and perform related duties as assigned.

EXAM INFORMATION A) Candidates must pass application screening for minimum qualifications. Applicants who meet minimum qualifications and all application criteria will be invited to take the written examination.
B)
Thursday, February 13, 2025: Written exam will be held. The written examination covering job related skills, knowledge, and abilities required of an Elementary School Secretary will account for 40% of candidates' final scores. Candidates who pass the written exam with a minimum score of 70% may be invited to oral board interviews.
C)
Thursday, February 13, 2025: Oral board interviews will be held in the afternoon. The oral board interviews will assess personal qualifications, experience, and training, and will account for 60% of candidates' final scores.
D)
Wednesday, February 19, 2025: Candidates who pass the exam and oral board interviews will be added to an eligibility list for this classification, and the top three ranks will be invited to attend a hiring interview on this date.
SPECIAL NOTES: 1) Correctly filling out forms and following other instructions contained in this notice are part of the testing process. 2) Applicants with disabilities need to notify the Human Resources Office of any special needs so that adequate preparation may be made for their testing. 3) Veterans qualifying for the oral board examination may receive 5 additional points added to their final score if proof of discharge is submitted at time of oral board interview. A "veteran" as used here means any person who served in the United States armed forces or National Guard in time of war or national emergency. 4) Eligibility lists are established for a period of six months.
