We are in search of a dedicated, experienced, and proactive Permanent General Superintendent to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This role will be at the forefront of our construction projects, ensuring the successful execution of our high-profile multi-family construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on the construction site, managing subcontractors, ensuring safety regulations are adhered to, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle and manage construction projects from planning to implementation.
2. Supervise on-site personnel and subcontractors.
3. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.
4. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
5. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
6. Review the work progress on a daily basis and adjust schedules as needed.
7. Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
8. Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.
9. Implement cost control measures to ensure project completion within budget.
10. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to and enforcing safety codes.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience with multi-family construction projects.
3. Strong knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
4. Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
5. Competent in conflict and crisis management.
6. Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities.
7. Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts effectively.
8. Proficient in construction estimating and cost control.
9. Solid understanding of construction safety protocols and ability to implement them.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
12. BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant field is preferred.
13. Valid construction and safety certifications are a plus.
