Job Description

You represent Fairmont Century Plaza with enthusiasm and pride, providing exceptional service and attention for each guest you encounter. You are energetic and confident, and will encourage your teammates to achieve and be positive while being entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the best possible experience for your guests at all times in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner.

The Guest Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our Colleagues, guests and visitors as an integral part of our operations. As a Guest Safety Officer, your attentiveness, efficiency and commitment will ensure your hotel remains a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination. The Guest Safety Officer is responsible for all daily Guest Safety Department tasks and functions.

What you will be doing:
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of the hotel guests, colleagues and hotel premises.
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance
  • Ensure that any violations to law or hotel policy are investigated and reported
  • Respond to all emergency situations and provide First Aid and CPR as required
  • Correct and report any fire hazards or health and safety hazards
  • Report and investigate occurrences of accidents, complaints, criminal activity, and crisis situations
  • Conduct regular floor patrols, cash counts and crowd control
  • Conduct departmental key control audits and maintain key control records
  • Maintain computer records of all actions in a Daily Activity Report
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain Guest Safety Officer Office Standards of conduct
  • Ensure all Guest Safety Department staff are adhering to Fairmont Policy
  • Review reports and daily activity logs
  • Ensure all Guest Safety monthly task are completed

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:
  • Previous experience in a Guest Safety Officer role required, leadership experience preferred
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • Certification in CPR First Aid required
  • California Guard Card required
  • Must possess a professional presentation
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • High school diploma required
  • Two years of college preferred
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Fluency in a second language is an asset
