About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Tax for the North America region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the regional tax team and overseeing all aspects of the tax function, including compliance with tax governance frameworks, staying updated on regional tax laws, and providing strategic recommendations to senior management. This role involves complex tax research, developing solutions to minimize tax liabilities, and supporting the Mergers and Acquisitions team on tax-related matters. The Head of Tax will also be involved in various tax projects, managing the effective tax rate, and ensuring SOX compliance. Additionally, the role includes maintaining the tax status of the US captive insurance business, managing relationships with tax authorities, and leading the tax team in building a high-performing function. Candidates for the Head of Tax position should have a strong background in tax, with experience in areas such as corporate tax, international tax, and transfer pricing. A deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, particularly in the North America region, is essential. The role requires the ability to manage a team, build relationships with external advisors, and negotiate with tax authorities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in tax planning, compliance, and managing complex tax issues. A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required, along with relevant professional certifications. The Head of Tax should also possess excellent communication skills, be adept at problem-solving, and have the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
