Overview of the Role:

As a Helicopter Mechanic (A&P) based in Linden, NJ, you will hold a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity and safety of the helicopter fleet. You will ensure compliance with Part 135 regulations, oversee both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and play a pivotal role in optimizing the fleet for daily use. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, this full-time position offers the opportunity to manage and coordinate repairs, contribute to a team-centered work environment, and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities:

• Lead ongoing maintenance and repair efforts, ensuring adherence to FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Coordinate daily repair and maintenance tasks, serving as the floor manager and repair coordinator as needed.
• Manage the daily maintenance board, prioritize tasks, and prepare reports for evening staff and management.
• Collaborate effectively with the Parts Coordinator for timely and proactive ordering of parts.
• Support the Director of Maintenance in addressing critical issues and represent them in senior management discussions when required.
• Ensure all maintenance personnel meet training requirements and perform quality control audits to maintain top standards.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair, fostering a team-based approach with a strong work ethic.

Requirements:

• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate.
• At least 3 years of helicopter maintenance experience.
• Experience as a team leader or in a similar role with responsibility for coordination of repairs and maintenance.
• Strong organization and project management skills.
• Experience with Bell 407 or 427; knowledge of Airbus AS350 B2/B3 or EC130 and EC155 is a plus.
• Ability to pass a DOT/FAA Pre-Employment Drug Screen.
• Willingness to work 3pm-11pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with shift leads and coordinate maintenance progress.
