Job Description
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Manager to join our team in the Worcester area. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our home care services, ensuring exceptional quality of care for clients. You will manage teams providing nursing, home health aide/CNA, PCA, homemaker, and companion services, all while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. Your leadership will be key to setting performance expectations and driving business success through strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
Lead the acceptance of new clients and ensure service hours goals are met.
Identify new opportunities for network growth and collaborate with the regional team to follow up.
Oversee scheduling, ensuring effective client-caregiver matches, addressing urgent shifts, and minimizing cancellations and overtime.
Collaborate with clients and caregivers to create and maintain effective schedules.
Update and review client care plans in partnership with managers and nursing staff.
Ensure continuous communication with clients, families, caregivers, and other involved parties through home visits, calls, emails, and written updates.
Assist with recruiting and training office staff and caregivers, focusing on improving retention and onboarding experience.
Monitor schedules for payroll accuracy and manage holiday coverage for caregivers.
Run monthly reports to track and improve caregiver performance and service delivery.
Participate in quality assurance (QA) meetings and conduct home visits as needed.
Supervisory Duties:
Inspire, lead, and motivate the team to meet performance goals and uphold high standards.
Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure accountability and support for achieving objectives.
Identify caregivers who require additional training and work with nursing staff to provide support.
Handle disciplinary actions and maintain documentation for caregivers and scheduling coordinators.
Ensure compliance with contract requirements, caregiver evaluations, and employment paperwork.
Oversee office schedules, on-call duties, and assist with troubleshooting any issues related to clients, families, or caregivers.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in personal care and home care services.
Minimum of 2 years' management experience, preferably with paraprofessional teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with electronic documentation.
Ability to handle stressful situations with patience, compassion, and understanding.
Excellent decision-making, negotiation, and time management skills.
Availability to work beyond normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle for work-related travel, and appropriate insurance.
Willingness to participate in on-call support and coverage.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a health or human services-related field preferred.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based (approximately 80%) with some time spent in client homes and the community (approximately 20%).
Potential hazards include working with emotionally distressed clients, driving in challenging weather, and exposure to contagious diseases or environmental factors.
The Home Care Manager must meet the following physical requirements:
Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Physical strength, endurance, and flexibility to perform job duties.
May require sitting or standing for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds.
