Job Description
The Role: Visionz Designs is seeking a Screen Print Dark Room Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Screen Print & Embroidery Manager, a successful candidate will be responsible for operating various pieces of equipment to coat, shoot, expose and reclaim screens for the screen printing process. Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality control are a must.
Responsibilities:
Operate automatic screen coating, imaging and developing machines to produce press ready screens for the printing process.
Follow job tickets and artwork specifications to ensure correct image files and screens are used.
Report errors or discrepancies on job tickets to the Screen Print & Embroidery Manager as necessary.
Perform QC checks to ensure defects do not occur at the print production stage.
Operate a reclaiming machine to remove ink, emulsion and degrease screens after production is complete.
Follow instructions from the Screen Print Manager & Embroidery and follow production schedules to meet deadlines.
Follow cleaning and maintenance schedules to ensure a safe and organized workspace.
Working in other departments may be required from time to time.
Experience:
Experience in a dark room screen printing environment.
Understanding of different screen mesh counts.
Understanding of emulsion and screen coating techniques.
Understanding of different ink removal, emulsion removal, degreasing and haze removing agents.
Experience using RIP software is beneficial but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and quality control skills.
Ability to take instruction and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to problem solve and adapt to a changing work environment.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks as part of the screen printing process
