Job Description
MightyFly is looking for a Senior Test Pilot in San Francisco, CA.
This local job opportunity with ID 3038748649 is live since 2025-01-17 13:47:00.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Senior Test Pilot, you will own building out the core functions of the flight test program. Specifically, you will prepare MightyFly’s experimental UAV aircraft for flight, conduct flight tests of the aircraft as the Pilot in Command, plan missions to support the flight test team, log flights, and provide debriefings to the team. As the Lead Test Pilot, you are responsible for briefing crew members and maintaining flight safety. Other responsibilities include working with the team to prepare concepts of operations, coordinating activities with airport officials, conducting readiness assessments for future pilots, and supporting our first pilot launch. At times, there may also be opportunities to work with our engineering and build team, providing input on design features and even helping to construct our airframe and subsystems.
For the majority of the time, this position will involve fieldwork away from the monotony of the office. Existing flight testing takes place at a small airport near Tracy, California, with limited infrastructure. Demonstration tests will be conducted in other areas across the United States, and you will be a key player in the logistics of those operations. Flight testing often requires early morning start times and can be hugely satisfying.
