Overview Software Development Engineering Intern- Irvine, CA (5 positions available) Panasonic Avionics Corporation seeks motivated Software Development Engineering Interns to join our growing. Engineering team in our Irvine, CA, office. This paid internship will start in June and continue through August 2025, with an opportunity to potentially continue through the school year. We collaborate with over 300 airline customers to develop inflight entertainment and communications (IFEC) solutions that are designed to meet their unique fleet, brand, operations, and business requirements, based on state-of-the-art technology, connectivity, and industry know-how. Every year, more than 2.7 billion passengers enjoy an amazing entertainment experience flying onboard Panasonic-equipped aircraft. The hourly wage range for this position is $26- $38. The final offer amount may vary and is based on the candidates' year in school. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements. Responsibilities The internship project focuses on developing a software solution that addresses specific needs identified by our team. Responsibilities: Understand Project Requirements: Engage with team members to gather and clarify project requirements. Participate in meetings to discuss objectives, functionalities, and any constraints. Research relevant technologies and tools that may be applicable to the project. Create Design Document: Develop a comprehensive design document that details the project’s architecture, user interface, and key features. Include technical specifications and system requirements, ensuring alignment with team expectations. Develop and Deliver Code: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to implement the features outlined in the design document. Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure code quality and functionality. Demo Project: Prepare Presentation: Create a demo presentation that showcases the developed solution, highlighting key features and functionalities. Feedback: Present the project to the team, gather feedback, and make any necessary adjustments based on input received. Qualifications Education Level: Undergraduate or Graduate Student Degree Disciplines: Computer Science Software Engineering Data Science Knowledge and Skills Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript. Software Development: Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum). Database Management: Basic knowledge of SQL and database design principles. Web Development: Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) is a plus. AWS knowledge Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members. Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
