POSITION TITLE: Crisis Services Manager

REPORTS TO: CCBHC Director

DIRECT REPORTS: Will supervise the Crisis Clinician position in coordination with the CCBHC Director. Will provide administrative supervision to non-licensed, crisis staff, including Crisis Liaisons and Mobile Crisis Responders.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt; regular full-time; employment-at-will position.

SCHEDULE: The work schedule will generally conform to that of a full-time Monday-Friday 40-hour-per-week schedule to be performed within the Center’s hours of operation. Some after-hours on-call work is required.

PURPOSE: The Crisis Services Manager is responsible for leading the crisis team and providing oversight in the delivery of all crisis services. The Crisis Services Manager will provide direct crisis services and coordination of care to stabilize crisis events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinate direct crisis team daily services and functioning.
  2. Coordination of other staff involved in the delivery of crisis services.
  3. Access and triage crisis phone calls & coordinate needed services.
  4. Supervision and overseeing of follow-up care for after-hours crisis phone calls received by HIS crisis services.
  5. Provide urgent/emergent mental health services: If QMHP, this includes intakes, crisis assessments & interventions, safety planning, and voluntary and involuntary hospitalizations. If non-QMHP, this includes Mobile Crisis Responses and hospital coordination.
  6. Planning and coordination of care for hospital discharges.
  7. Review documentation of crisis services with recommendations to the provider. Inform CCBHC Director of recommendations to improve crisis service delivery, coordination of care, and documentation issues.
  8. Provide crisis services training to staff.
  9. If QMHP: Provide expert court testimony as needed.
  10. Maintain documentation of all consultation and coordination activities.
  11. Builds and maintains relationships with community partner agencies, tracks crisis services data, and completes grant reports as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Must meet one of the following criteria:
    1. Hold current Kansas licensure and credentialing as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) per Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board (BSRB) requirements.
    2. Be qualified to work as a Case Manager, which requires a bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field such as psychology, or social work. Alternatively, four years of experience in the Human Services field.
  2. Computer literacy, database management, and effective utilization of basic technology
  3. Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  4. Proficient in the English language
  5. Pass all required background checks

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Remaining stationery, such as standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.
  2. Frequently moving from one worksite to another to accomplish tasks.
  3. Lifting, adjusting or moving objects up to 25 pounds in any direction.
  4. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands or fingers.
  5. Communicating with others to exchange information.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: This position may require travel to multiple worksites, community locations, or individual homes. While in the office, work is generally performed indoors with ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment. Ability to be emotionally responsive. The ability to utilize telehealth platforms for virtual meetings is essential.

SALARY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION: Salary commensurate with experience and Kanza MHGC salary structure.
